A familiar difficulty with those who have attempted and failed at internet marketing is that they keep jumping ship, from one product to another, from one plot to another. One month it is PPC, the following it is article marketing. One week it is list building, the following it is social media. You’ve signed up to do the Thirty Day Challenge – again – and then another “guru” launches another “must have” strategy. This is the most familiar difficulty I come across as an internet marketing coach.

The whole thing moves so swiftly in the work of internet marketing it is hard to keep up and even more challenging to remain focussed for a long enough time to complete the things you start.

But, if you do not develop the habit of completing what you start you are going to be perpetually frustrated and that IM life-style you so yearn for will forever stay hard to get hold of.

Chances are, if you’ve been around the internet marketing block a number of times, you will have already developed the belief that you aren’t skilled at completing things. And right there is a fantastic place to start. You need to develop a success mindset.

The simplest way to transform the beliefs you have concerning yourself is to transform the truth about you. And that’s not as tough as it might seem. You merely need to notice more and pay better attention to what supports you.

To transform your perception about being a poor finisher you need to start noticing where you in fact do complete tasks and start to develop a track record of the tasks you do complete.

Buy a note pad and place the date and “Things I’ve Completed” at the beginning of the page. Then, as you go about your day keep a note of all the things you’ve completed, both for work and outside that. Fill your list with small things at first, the more the better, so you set yourself up to succeed. As an example, 5 items on your list could be:

- completed key phrase research for “internet marketing coach” phrase
- uploaded a blog post to my main site
- wrote an item to send to ezine article directory
- cleaned out one drawer in living room
- read a chapter of my book

At the end of every day read the list to yourself and acknowledge your success. You’ll learn that the more you become aware of the tasks you complete, the more confident you’ll become that you truthfully are a finisher. Then, one day, you will observe that the tiny steps have changed into a substantial concluded project and your thought of yourself as someone who starts things but never completes them has been replaced.
